David went to college intending on becoming a pastor, but graduated with a degree in business instead. For many years he worked in real estate, securities and investments and was the president of the Van Kampen Group.
David believed God was using his skills and abilities in the secular workplace to further His kingdom; however the call to pastor was strong. Through a combination of prayer, preaching opportunities, godly counsel, and trials, God made His call to David undeniably clear.
David currently serves as the CEO of International Aid, a Christian relief organization located in Spring Lake, Michigan. He and his wife Kristen have raised six children to adulthood—Calvin, Katherine, Marinela, Christopher, Alexandra, and Nicole.
David's desire is to build a church that is characterized as a "get dirty, reach the lost, roll up your sleeves and disciple to the untaught" ministry. Their vision for how Harvest Bible Chapel Spring Lake will accomplish that is simple: Preach the Word of God and make disciples with intensity and urgency.
