Cross-bordered by Serbia and Bulgaria, Bistret is one of five counties in the Oltenia Region of Romania. This is the field that the Lord has called Ghita Pana and his family to sow and reap.
On the field, one often encounters stiff opposition from local authorities; abusive language and physical persecution at the hands of local religious groups; overcoming generations of superstition, fear and suspicion; and phone tapping and surveillance by the police.
These oppositions would be expected in a non-Christian nation, but they are everyday occurrences in the Eastern European nation of Romania.
Our first Romanian church plant,
Harvest Metanoia in Arad, has sent the Pana family to bring the light of Christ Jesus to Bistret.
Harvest Indy West joined this work in 2008 by sending the first Harvest team to support the Pana's and the task of planting a life-giving work in Bistret.
God is bearing much fruit through the sacrifices and willingness of His people to go into difficult areas with the Gospel.
We ask you to pray on December 19 and 20 for the Christmas event that will be held in Bistret at the Culture House. Harvest Metanoia will partner in this presentation of the gospel.
